A Continuing Care Retirement Community in Western New York

Fredonia Place is proud to be the first Chautauqua County senior care facility to facilitate Veterans’ Administration (V.A.) benefits for our Residents. These benefits are available through the V.A. to current and prospective Residents of Fredonia Place through the Wartime Veterans Pension and are referred to as the Aide and Attendance Benefit.

All wartime Veterans and their spouses are eligible. The Veterans must have served in the military during a declared
wartime period such as World War II, Korea or Vietnam, but need not have fought, only served during such a time.

The formula calculates the benefit based upon monthly cash flow, minus health care expenses.

Because your rent at Fredonia Place is considered a health care expense, you are able to qualify for a higher V.A.
Pension Benefit. All benefits awarded under this program are retroactive to the date of application and are increased
annually by the V.A. based on any cost-of-living increases.

When considering your financial options you may have many alternatives: Real Estate Holdings, Long Term Care Insurance, 401k plans, CD’s, Investments,
Bonds and IRA’s.

If you or a spouse were a war time Veteran, there’s more good news;

This benefit comes in the form of a check to the resident/family member, not to the community. There is no maximum benefit over your lifetime - You can keep up to $80,000 in net assets. Does not include your home or vehicle.

As long as the individual is a Resident, he or she will
continue to receive a monthly check. Even if the Resident lived in another state and moved to a New York community, he or she can contact their local V.A. representative to
obtain benefits.

Fredonia Place can help coordinate the application process. Residents must receive assistance with a minimum of

(2) ADL’s to qualify for the Aide and Attendance.
